Do You Have To Be Catholic?
The weekend is Catholic in orientation and is expressed in the tradition and understanding of the Catholic Church. It is open to all, so a certain number of spaces are reserved each weekend for couples of other faiths.
What Happens At ….
A Worldwide Marriage Encounter?
A team of Catholic couples and a Catholic priest gives a series of presentations. Each presentation allows you both a rare opportunity to look at yourself as individuals, then to look at your marriage and your relationship, finally to look at your relationship with God, the Church and the world. The weekend starts at 8 PM on Friday night and continues until 4:30 PM on Sunday afternoon.
Does The Weekend Respect….
The Couple’s Privacy?
YES! The weekend is designed for the couple’s privacy. Each couple concentrates on their own relationship. The only sharing is between husband and wife. The presentations are given to the whole group. After each presentation, couples go to the privacy of their own rooms for their won personal discussion.
How Does Marriage Encounter…
Enhance A Marriage?
The encounter weekend teaches a communication technique which permits each couple time to explore important areas of their relationship in a spirit of love and understanding.
By continuing to use this newly acquired technique begun on the weekend, couples continue to grow closer together to live more joyful and purposeful lives.
When and Where?
Marriage Encounter Weekends are held regularly at local motels and retreat houses. Reservations should be made as early as possible to secure a place on the weekend.
What Does Marriage Encounter Cost?
A $75.00 nonrefundable reservation fee is required to cover food and lodging. At the end of the weekend each couple is given a blank envelope and asked to make a donation. No one is ever refused the opportunity to make a weekend because of lack of funds. |
